Wokingham Catenian Circle

The Catenian Association is an international brotherhood of Catholic business and professional men. We meet socially,  which is a reflection of the mutual support and sharing of common values that is found within the Association.

Wokingham Circle was formed in 1982 and is strongly focused on 3 parishes:  Corpus Christi in Wokingham; Immaculate Conception in Sandhurst and Holy Ghost in Crowthorne.  Other parishes include St Swithuns in Yateley; Our Lady of Peace in Early and St Thomas More in Twyford.

Circle Meetings

We meet on the fourth Monday of each month. Time: 7:30pm  Location: East Berkshire Golf Club. Ravenswood Avenue. Crowthorne, Berkshire. RG45 6BD Click for map.

Family and Social Events

The family is an important element in Catenianism and many of the Circle's events are designed so that wives, family and friends can participate. In order to provide a regular social programme for Catholic men and their families, with opportunities to develop positive social bonds that foster Christian values, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the Circle hosts a Dinner Dance, regular ladies' nights (dinner), an annual retreat, a clergy night, a guest night, a Burns Night dinner and a Mass for deceased Brothers. Other Circle social activities include:- carol evenings, wine tasting, pub skittles, ladies lunches, country walks, an evening at the races, pub gatherings, theatre visits, golf, a Trivial Pursuit competition, an occasional guest speaker and visits to places of interest such as Kew Gardens and Stonor.  There is usually ten-pin bowling and a trip to see a pantomime or show for younger members of the family during the Christmas holiday period.  In addition to all this, social events with other Circles in the South-East include inter-Circle quizzes, residential weekends, and golf tournaments. Something for everyone!
